Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan will leave for Russian main city Moscow on an working visit on April 12-13 to participate in Eurasian Economic Union session.

According to Armenian governmental press service, the visit also anticipates a meeting between Armenian PM and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

It is worth reminding that the Union’s intergovernmental session was scheduled to take place in Yerevan last week, but Kazakhstan, currently holding EAEU Chairmanship, suggested to annul the meeting due to the idea that “Participation of foreign Prime Ministers, including Russian, during escalation of confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be considered support for one of the sides”.

Russia accepted Kazakhstan’s suggestion.

Receiving Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev on April 7 in Yerevan, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said (full article in Armenian):

“I’m sorry to say that some of our EAEU partners refused to come to Armenia and participate in the pre-scheduled event. I don’t know how this helped Azerbaijan, but they definitely diminished the authority of our organization.”
