 Thursday 15 July 2010

Yerevan/Mediamax/. With introduction of the accumulative pension system, new insurance companies will appear in Armenia with licence of life insurance, Deputy Director of “Sil-Insurance” Andranik Ohanjanyan stated in an interview to Mediamax.

It is planned that besides pension funds and banks, insurance companies will also be able to deal with management of citizens’ pension assets.

“Pension insurance is one of the types of life insurance, while today none of the Armenian insurance companies has a licence for life insurance”, Andranik Ohanjanyan stated.

According to him, since introduction of the accumulative system is at the initial stage, there is no preparatory work carried out in insurance market.

“I will note that the legislation bans one and the same company dealing with insurance of both life and non-life, consequently, aiming at managing pension assets, new insurance companies should be set up. I am sure that soon they will appear in the market”, Deputy Director of “Sil-Insurance” stated in an interview to Mediamax.
